The Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board promotes a recovery-oriented system of care. Mental illness and addiction are chronic diseases, and recovery is about the evolution of an individual from a state of disease, to a state of wellness. True recovery is about much more than just a person’s physical well-being, recovery is about a person’s total well-being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. We know that individuals with a mental illness and/or addiction want what everyone wants; they want a home, a job, friends, and to go out and socialize like everyone else.
